Mariposas Amarillas is a small grassroots organization located in Santa Marta, on the Caribbean coast in Colombia. They provide Santa Marta's underserved neighbourhood with education, workshop and recreation, information and supplies on nutrition and childcare. I worked as a volunteer a few days with a bunch of wonderful kids teaching them math and a bit of Spanish (allthough my level of speaking obviously was way below theirs). It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work trying to get 10 year olds to behave and sit still in class (as they'd much rather be outside and play).
